Obama, the first black president, addicted to Blackberry?
I just read this:
http://illinoislottostats.com/illinois-lotto-blackberry-coup
Claiming President-elect Barack Obama should give up his blackberry - due to things like security, etc. etc.
I’m not so worried about it though… There isn’t really anything you can do to prevent that sort of thing without placing him in a lead box or something - any cell phone could be triangulated, email can be intercepted, information extrapolated - given enough time and drive (money, politics, whatever). I think that the ease of communication the blackberry allows is a far greater benefit to someone in such a powerful position than the potential hazards - the same kind of hazards which would be solved by removing said avenues of communication.
A government should be open about it’s policies, etc - quick to respond to crises, not just sitting there stupidly in a classroom staring at a wall.
Funny how as soon as the US of A gets more liberal, Canada’s become more conservative though. This government we have right now sucks ass - it’s like when Bush ran against ol’ horse face himself, John Kerry. Everyone voted for Harper because the viable alternative (Dion) had a dead horse of a campaign! Vote for me and I’ll introduce a new tax that everyone has to pay! Surefire way to not get elected.

How I proposed, or LEDs are a girls best friend
The night was Monday, March 24th.. I was definitely set in my mind about marrying my girlfriend of almost 4 1/2 years. I had a plan, I had the time (I thought, more on that later) and I also had the presence of mind to ask her. (more…)

The Third Replicator, or the Techneme
I just stumbled upon an article about memes and genes, and another, third, “evolutionary replicator” at Dr. Susan Blackmore’s site which was, I think, a fascinating if short read. I have a couple of thoughts on the subject.
